As per the announcement made by the Government of Canada, the Family Migration Programs for Canada have made the Canadian Immigration process faster than ever before. With the new policy, individuals intending to apply for partner visas can now get their visa processed in 12 months instead of 24 months.
This change in the policy is applicable on individuals residing either inside or outside Canada and on applications that have already been submitted and the ones that will be submitted in future. Keeping in view that the applications will be processed in the order they are received, the applications submitted already will get preference over future applications.
With the aim to reunite families and bring them together, this policy is presumed to benefit more than 64,000 individuals intending to join their families in Canada as spouses, partners or dependent children of citizens or permanent residents in Canada by the end of 2017. It was further stated that this policy is here to stay permanently and will not be affected by changes in politicians or governments.
Moreover, with this new policy, the Canadian Government will welcome thousands of applicants from all over the world to Canada who are either planning to submit their applications in future or those who have already submitted. Also, The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has granted extension to a Pilot program till 21st December 2017 under which partners of Canadian citizens are allowed to work in Canada while their application is being processed.
